Cristiano Ronaldo Sets New Record: 50 Major Tournament Appearances for Europe

By playing against Georgia, superstar Cristiano Ronaldo once again made his name in history with an unprecedented achievement.

According to statistics, Ronaldo has become the first European player to reach 50 matches in major international tournaments such as the World Cup and EURO. Specifically, CR7 has played 22 times in the World Cup and 28 times in the EURO. All of which once again shows the 39-year-old striker’s perseverance.

Against Georgia, Ronaldo continued to be arranged by coach Roberto Martinez to start despite Portugal having won a ticket to the round of 16 as the winner of Group F. The reason probably lies in CR7’s desire to play to find his first goal at EURO 2024.

In the match against Türkiye in the second round, Ronaldo actually had a golden opportunity to get his name on the scoreboard. However, he chose to assist Bruno Fernandes to increase the score to 3-0. This action of CR7 later caused a “storm” on the internet with a rain of praise for his team spirit.

Back to the match against Georgia , Ronaldo was taken off by coach Martinez in the 66th minute on a day when he played as expected. CR7 needs to rest and regain his strength as Portugal prepares to enter the round of 16 against very strong opponents.
